GuardoAlto from Tenuta il Quinto is a wine that encapsulates the rich history and terroir of Tuscany. This blend of Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from three distinct plots planted in the early 2000s, each adding its own unique characteristics thanks to different exposures, slopes, and soil compositions. These elements combine to give the wine its distinctive complexity and depth.

Aging for 18 months in used French oak barrels imparts further richness without overwhelming the wine’s natural freshness. In the glass, it presents an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it offers a beautifully layered bouquet of floral and herbal aromas, followed by vibrant notes of cherry, raspberry, and other red fruits. Subtle hints of spice add an extra dimension to the wine’s aromatic profile.

On the palate, GuardoAlto is full-bodied and well-structured, with finely integrated tannins that create a velvety texture. The balance of fruit and spice leads to a long, satisfying finish, leaving a lasting impression.
