ALOIS LAGEDER VERNATSCH-SCHIAVA 2021 (750ml)

Schiava is an autochthonous vine which until the 1970s played a dominant role in South Tyrolean viticulture, so much so that, until then, South Tyrol was considered an area for red wines. Since its grapes prefer the shade, for the Schiava we continue to raise it in the pergola system. The resulting wine stands out for its freshness, lightness and tannic softness, has a moderate alcohol content, and is therefore an ideal match for light dishes. The vinification of 100% pure gray Schiava grapes comes from selected vineyards in Caldaro and Cortaccia. Soils located at an altitude of between 300 and 400 meters above sea level. The soils are mainly gravelly and very calcareous. The age of the vines is between 32 and 72 years. The harvest takes place in mid-September and immediately after the grapes are fermented with maceration in steel. After the refinement of the wine with malolactic fermentation completely carried out and elevation in cement tanks for at least 6 months.
