SCHIOPPETTINO IGP
The 50-year-old Schioppettino grapes come from a south-east facing slope in Prepotto, which historically is the best cru for this variety. Prepotto is located in the Province of Udine.
The wine is vinified in stainless steel with indigenous yeast only. The stainless steel fermentation keeps the fruit intact and the body mid-weighted. It sees approximately 14 days of skin contact. The malolactic fermentation is 100% spontaneous. matured in stainless steel for 12 months. The total SO2 is 59 mg/L.
The color is brilliant ruby red with a moderate transparency. The nose reveals scents of cherry and strawberry, with a slight peppery-spiciness. Medium in body, the i Clivi Schioppettino shows prominent acidity and a delicacy reminiscent of red-fruit pulp.
