I CLIVI MALVASIA VIGNA 80 YEARS 2020

The 80-year-old Malvasia I Clivi comes like the rest of their wines from very old vines. This means vines with very deep roots. This Malvasia is floral and aromatically rich with white camomile petals in a perfect balance.

The soils of the South-East of Friuli are formed by sandstone marls, i.e. sedimentary rocks of marine origin, composed of layers of clay and fractions of limestone, and the roots of the old vines dig into the deepest layers of these marls, here called Flysch di Cormons, reaching unique nutrients and macroelements, which are distilled from the roots towards the grapes, which acquire a great personality and character uniquely linked to the specific piece of land from which they come.

Consequently, this uniqueness then passes to the wines made from these grapes. Wines that are complex and mineral, expressive of the territory and less played on varietal notes.
